Chestnut Clearing

| In January we planted the largest tree as far away from the house as possible, a single Sweet Chestnut (Castanea Sativa). It was a very cold and windy day and Emma and Luke braved it without complaint for a few hours before finally giving in to the cold. The tree is planted in an area that will eventually be a large clearing at the end of the garden near Birch Grove. |  |
